What a great time of the year down here at Hops and Heifers Farm! Leaves are a changin' colors, chill is in the air, hops are put to bed and the cows are developing their fur coats for winter. We have had a great time on the farm this past fall. Some highlights include the Great American Beer Festival and the Oskar Blues Ordeal (check out more pics here!). A sold out event again, we hosted over 250 people at the farm the week of GABF, with the high point being the Gospel Brunch. The New Spiritual Wonders Gospel band entertained 70 revelers while they enjoyed a five-course feast prepared by our own Jason Rogers that included Shrimp and Grits, Breakfast Sage Sausage and blueberry cheese cake blintzes. We washed it all down with Mama MOs (Mama's Little Yella Pils and O.J.) and a fr

We also were part of Cultivate in Denver's City Park this year, a very cool event that highlighted both local and nationally-renowned chefs and local farm relationships, live music and local craft brews. We served up some Hops & Heifers short ribs on a bed of steaming cheesy grits, and some of our Berkshire pork Sopasada with G'Knight Beer Mustard and fresh dill pickles. We were paired up with Chef Richard Blais who used Hops and Heifers bone marrow for a delightful prairie butter.
As we move into winter we are looking forward to Spring and a bumper hop crop, thank you for all you support and don’t forget to get a Hops and Heifers Burger at Oskar Blues Homemade Liquid and Solids in Longmont, Grill and Brew in Lyons or the BoneWagon food truck. Enjoy!
