Weekday Music

Thanks to all you great music fans out there for helping make our 10th anniversary party a huge success. Special thanks to Tommy Castro and his band for a super night of blues on Saturday the 28th.

We have some great stuff planned for you in May.

May 1st is a Tuesday that always features our great bluegrass pick & open stage, hosted by K. C. Groves and Eric Thorin. This is without a doubt the best bluegrass pick in Boulder County, so bring over your acoustic instrument and join in on the fun.

Thursday the 15th we will be hosting the Niwot High School Jazz band #2 downstairs starting at 7:00 pm till about 8:30pm, come on over and support these wonderful kids and their efforts to make music, they are terrific.

We will deviant from the Bluegrass theme of Thursday's shows with Jason Ricci & New Blood appearing on Thursday the 3rd. Jason is a big favorite at Oskar Blues and it is the only night we could fit him in this tour. He is one of the country's best harmonica players by far don't miss him.

Thursday the 10th is Taarka a very tight local bluegrass band originally from Oregon now residing in Boulder.

Todd Livingston brings his big bluegrass band back for a show on the 17th; Todd is a great local slide, dobro, and pedal steel player.

The Stanleytones are back on Thursday the 24th and the last Thursday of the month will see Pete Kartsounes and his pickin' pals converge on our stage for bluegrass and more.

Friday and Saturday Nights

Friday and Saturdays start on May 4th with Catfish & the Crawlers Ed Cray the head catfish and lead guitarist has put together and new rockin blues band that he is excited about. It has been a while but they are always a good band to dance to.

Terry Kishiyama our graphic designer at Oskar's is bringing The Interstate Stash Express back for some great original Rock N Roll on the 5th.

Friday May 11th we have the King of Bourbon Street blind guitar player Bryan Lee . Bryan was just on Jay Leno last month and finished up a worldwide tour with Kenny Wayne Shepard and is a wonderful guy and great bandleader, vocalist and guitar player don't miss this very special show.

Saturday night the 12th is one of Denver best blues guitarist's Rich Reno and his band there first time together at Oskar's.

The 18th we have a smokin' guitarist from the Mid-west Kris Lager they were awarded best Texas blues album of the year by bandit blues radio should be a hot night of music.

On Saturday one of our favorites Halden Wofford & the Hi-Beams are back with their rockin' honky tonk music, so come on by on the 19th.

The last weekend in May should be great. The Jeff Strahan band from Durango by way of Texas this little three-piece band with great originals will sound like there are ten people on the stage. It is their first time here so come on out and welcome them you won't be disappointed.

Last but certainly not least is the partying, fun, make you want to dance Chris Daniels & the Kings so wear those dancing shoes and come have a ball with this big horn band.

Sunday Music

Sundays start off on the 6th with the hot Boulder jamgrass band Mumbouli, followed by local favorites Whiskey Trip on the 13th.

Texas honky-tonk diva Sunny Sweeney brings her great band and refreshing twang to Oskar's for the first time. She is a great songwriter and a big Merle Haggard fan, which is OK with us.

Danny Shafer's great Americana band The Unknown Americans finish out the Sundays for the month of May with his original tunes and some classics.
